The Solvang Gardens Lodge is celebrating the holidays by giving the holiday nights (December 24 or December 31) free if you book the 2 nights before or after the holidays.

The holidays are approaching and this year  Solvang’s Christmas program is called Yulefest, which is the proper Danish name for this magnificent celebration. Our Solvang Yulefest activities begin December 4th with the tree lighting ceremony and on Saturday December 5th we have our annual Christmas parade. It is a beautiful in Solvang with the store’s display windows  decorated and the sidewalk trees full of lights.

Our city of Solvang has received a letter on October 7, 2009 from Michelle Obama designating us a “Preserve America Community” Mrs. Obama states “Your community holds a treasured place in the American story, and it is through your vision and dedication that our history will be upheld and our future will be renewed. President Obama and I are proud of your community and we applaud your achievement.”

We are very pleased to be recognized for our historic preservation, especially in anticipation of Solvang’s centennial celebration in 2011. Solvang is one of only 30 communities in California and 795 communities in the USA to have received this honor since the program’s inception in 2003. As the chairman of the “Preserve America Committee”, a Solvang resident and owner of the Solvang Gardens Lodge I am very honered for our city.
